(NYSE:AVT), today announced the completion of Avnet's share-exchange merger transaction with Sonepar, which transferred to Avnet its 84 percent ownership of European electronic components distribution company, Eurotronics B.V . (doing business as SEI). 1 September, 1999   Avnet to acquire U.K. based distributor, SEI Macro Group Roy Vallee, chairman and chief executive officer of Avnet Inc. (NYSE:AVT - news), today announced that the company has entered into a contract with Diploma plc to acquire European electronic components distributor SEI Macro Group, headquartered in Slough, U.K. 26 August, 1999   Avnet substantially strengthens its position in europe through merger with SEI Roy Vallee, chairman and chief executive officer of Avnet, Inc.
